Background
Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran Johor (KYPJ) was established from the struggle of the state government to dignify the education of the nation's children who failed to continue their studies to university. It is a big dream of the leadership of the Johor State Government to see an educational institution established in the state of Johor to enable SPM graduates who do not have the opportunity to go to university to continue their education in the district where they live. On 3 March 1996, a company wholly owned by Yayasan Pelajaran Johor (YPJ) named Ilham Ikhlas Sdn Bhd was established to provide academic and skills programs in colleges administered in accordance with the Private Higher Education Institutions Act 1996 (Act 555).
