Starting in 1989, the semester system was first introduced with the recruitment of students twice a year, for the January and July sessions. On 16 October 2002, POLISAS took another step forward with the handing over of the premises of Tengku Ampuan Afzan Teachers' College (MPTAA), Semambu, as Campus B of POLISAS when the college moved to its new campus in Kuala Lipis. Campus B, which has an area of 27.2 hectares, is used as a lecture room and laboratory from the July 2002 session. In line with the development and increase in the number of students, POLISAS is rapidly developing with the construction of new buildings and the renovation of lecture blocks, workshops, computer laboratories, science laboratories and administrative buildings. The upgrade project under World Bank loan financing was fully completed and the entire new building was officially put into use from April 8, 2004.On 13 January 2004, POLISAS together with 14 polytechnics of the Ministry of Education Malaysia were awarded the MS ISO 9001:200 Certificate to replace the MS ISO 9002:1994 Certificate obtained on 8 February 2001 previously.
